Located in the Shepherd Canyon area of Mission Trails Regional
Park. Start at Mast Boulevard Trailhead for a strenuous hike or at
Old Mission Dam for a more pleasant hike along Oak Canyon Trail. As
you near the cache look for a rocky streambed that will lead you to
riverbank rip-rap where you will find a plastic medication bottle
hidden just behind the first-course of the stone rip-rap. No
climbing required.
This is one of four caches placed in Shepherd Canyon that have a
medicinal theme. The reason for this cluster of caches is to assure
that the Santee Geocacher called Cegrube doesn’t collapse one day
while chasing his dream of scoring each and every MTRP FTF no
matter what the cost. In this case the container should remind
Cegrube to take a calcium tablet now and then to assure that his
tired old bones don’t fracture as he pounds along the MTRP trails
in pursuit of lasting FTF fame.
