Geocache Description:

The Doña Ana Plaza is located in the center of the Dona Ana village, north of Las Cruces. It's a micro container- so bring your own pen/cil.

Cache is on easy terrain, but you will have to watch out for muggles. This is especially true on Sundays. I do not recommend looking for the cache on a Sunday, as this is right next to a church.

Historically, plazas have been of great importantance in the southwest and west- they're traditionally of Spanish-founded cities, but have also been incorporated into other communities as well. Doña Ana was founded in the mid to late 1800's. The community once served as the county seat of Doña Ana County. That was later moved to Las Cruces, however. The original county building is still standing, but is now a residence just down the street from the plaza. Despite this history, it wasn't until just very recently that this plaza was built.

When it's time for mass, this area might be filled with muggles. Parking and traffic might also be a problem, as people tend to park along the streets nearby the church. The church has the following schedule for mass:
Mon, Wed, Fri- 8 pm
Thurs - 6 pm
Saturday - 5 pm
Sunday - Multiple times, including two morning sessions and one evening session at 6 pm.
