This cache is on the Leatherwood Trail– A half mile trail which is a circuit or loop trail which connects to the Moonshine Hollow Trail.
Buckhorn Lake and State Resort Park
Tucked away in the mountains, Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park is truly a "Great Escape." Positioned just along the edge of the Daniel Boone National Forest, this resort appeals to nature-lovers or anyone who just wants to get away from it all.
Curl up next to the lodge’s fireplace or enjoy the mountain air from your private balcony. The mist-ringed mountains marching down to the lake’s edge are but one of many inspiring views this resort offers. The lodge also features a conference center, with all guest services under one roof. Delicious catered meals are served fresh from the kitchen and guest rooms are only a few steps away.
Buckhorn Lake and State Resort Park includes a recreational room for lodge and cottage guests, miniature golf, swimming, shuffleboard, playground, tennis, sand volleyball, horseshoes, basketball, a conference center, dining room, and a gift shop in the lodge, Marina, picnic shelter houses, a vending area, lodging, camping, boating, and planned recreation.
Buckhorn Lake and State Resort Park is open all year long.
Please follow all trail rules which include; no carving or damaging of rock formations and trees, no collecting or digging for artifacts, no fire building and/or camping, no unleashed pets or motorized vehicles on trails, no repelling and/or rock climbing, no hunting or disturbing of wildlife, no picking of any flowers or plant materials, no alcoholic beverages, and no littering (Remember CITO).
