Short walk, *mostly* on a trail, to the "real" Union Springs.
There once was a sign to this location, but now all that's left is the name. According to John Heatwole, this once was a resort area primarily associated with Mennonite families in the area. Somewhere very near here there was a boarding house nicknamed "the hotel" managed by a Miss Kate Croushorn in the summers; the rest of the year she taught school. Some families also had resort cottages in the area.
The cache is located as close as I can figure to where this may have been. If you look closely, you can see traces of human activity.
Note : If you want a longer hike now that you are here, there is a old trail off to the left as you are walking in that gets a bit overgrown in spots but is generally ok for a while.
