Geocache Description:

This cache is set close to the site of the Elliot Rail Disaster of 1906

A carriage of the local train after an express had run into the back of it. The accident occurred on 30 December 1906 in a blizzard. A snowdrift had forced the Highland Railway to implement single line working over a section of the main line between Elliot and Easthaven. The block system had failed and time-interval working was in operation. The driver of the express had failed to heed instructions to drive with caution.

Twenty-two people died.

The cache is hidden along a popular dog walk so please watch out for muggles
