Geocache Description:

Moun10Bike Geocoin #652

July 5 - 7 2006

Congrats to Ziggot the winner of the Moun10Bike coin

and

to AZKiteFlyer the winner of the Magellan Explorist 600!

What a great event! over 12,000 educators exposed to geocaching with over 300 actually doing our caches!

Thanks to all the cachers who volunteered and a special thanks to Sonny and Sandy from Podcacher.com for their help with this event...I couldn't have done it without you all!

Next conference will be NCCE in Spokane WA!

San Diego Convention Center
111 West Harbor Drive
San Diego CA 92101

The NECC is coming to San Diego!

16,000 educators from around the world will be coming and all of them will have an opportunity to learn to geocache with you.

Here's the idea:
We will create a caching "course" near the convention center. All 16,000 conference participants will be given a ticket to enter a free geocaching drawing at registration. Teachers love free stuff so most will stop by our booth and inquire, many will actually play. However, in order to be in the drawing they must complete the course, ie. find our caches. They must present the ticket to you at the geocaching booth after they complete the objective to be entered into the free drawing. We'll have many winners and one will win a GPSr.

You will give the teachers a quick orientation on how the GPSr works, with coordinates preloaded. You'll help them checkout the GPSr, give them a one page map on one side and cache description, hint and coordinates on the other. If they have their own GPSr they'll only need the handout and obviously no training. To make sure they have actually completed the course each teacher will need to retrieve one of the items in each cache, each cache will contain a different item. When they have all the items they return to our booth and turn in the items, GPSr, Handout and Ticket to then be entered into the drawing. For completing the course they will receive an official Geocaching tattoo from Groundspeak. You will be needed to periodically return the items to each respective cache so that the caches will always contain items.

What's in it for me?
An Event Find, Fun, Prizes and maybe Moun10Bike Geocoin #652! Everyone that touches the coin will be able to log it.

For more info check out our wiki and join the fun!

You'll need to sign up on the wiki for a date and time to claim this cache...we'll need you to plan ahead. You cannot just show up to this event to claim it or to be considered for the drawing. We need to develop a work schedule for the booth to make sure we have at least 6- 10 cachers on duty at all times.

All decisions to determine the winner of the geocoin will be mine and then I'll quickly get on a plane back to Seattle. :)

Special Thanks to Moun10Bike for his generous donation!
