Lumberjack Tom: Time to put this one on the shelf! I do look forward, however, to an early spring!

Cache located in Skyview Park. It is a "whizbang" (screwtop container a tad smaller than a 35mm canister) containing only a log, so please bring a writing instrument. Park within 15'.
One of the first signs of spring is the voice of the black-capped chickadee. It goes like this: "chick-a-dee-dee-dee." That's the voice. The song consists of a clear whistle, "fee-bee-ee" or "fee-bee," the first note higher. Chickadees are one of the most loquacious avian species in early spring.
Chickadees are titmice, which are small plump, small-billed birds that are quite acrobatic when feeding, especially when stalking insects, which they eat in abundance, along with seeds, acorns and berries. They have adjusted well to man's encroachments and may be found in large bands in the deepest parts of even the largest cities. Naturally, they can be found throughout city parks as well. My bet is that you'll find at least one in Skyview.
