Geocache Description:


The origin of the name is obscure and even Google cannot explain it! It is a bridle path which runs from Little Gransden alongside Gransden Wood and Waresley Wood, and the cache is on the edge of the lane just outside the wood. You must access the cache from the lane. Parking is best in Waresley Nature Reserve car park at N52.10.728 W000.09.621 with a walk through Waresley Wood. Once in the wood keep right at the first fork, then where paths cross by hut keep straight on.
Alternatively there is limited parking near Great Gransden church or Little Gransden church - these involve a longer walk down Dick and Doll's Lane which can be muddy in wet weather.
Waresley Wood is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is of ancient origin consisting of predominantly ash, field maple and hazel, with some elm, aspen and oak. In springtime there are displays of oxslips, bluebells, primroses and wood anemones.

The cache is a 8in by 6in plastic box
