The above coordinates are not the
correct coordinates for the cache, and in fact are not even in an
area under coalition control so I don't recommend trying to find
them. You must do a little work in order to find this one,
but don't worry, it is easy and as long as you know your way around
you should have no trouble finding each of the
elements.
Cache rating is due to needing a
HMMWV or 4x4 to travel to the cache if you don't use your LPCs
(Leather personnel carriers) and because a 24+ hour stay will be
required. Container is a green Geocaching bison tube with
only a log, so bring along your own writing stick—you are a Soldier
after all and should have something to write with right?
Ok, so on to the fun. Correct
coordinates are—North
AB CD.EFG
East
HIJ KL.MNO
1. Begin your trek by finding the CSH
(Combat Support Hospital). Take a look at the building number
and subtract 17 to find—
AB
2. Travel down the main drag and about
the middle of the street you will find a Local National store with
the same name as a popular convenience store back in the US.
Add these two numbers together to find—
CD
3. How many meals a day does the DFAC
serve? This number will give you—
E
4. Add the 24
to number of letters in
the name of the base, post, FOB or LSA nearest to the above listed
coordinates to find—
FG
5. Go and see a movie some evening and
find the building number for the post theater?
Subtract 11
to
find—
HIJ *note—the
first digit is zero*
6. What is the number of the base fire
station—not the building number, the station number?
Add 8
to this number to
find—
KL
7. Have you seen the brand new
airfield control tower? Somewhere nearby you will find the
building number for the old
airfield control
tower? Subtract 22 from this number to
find—
MNO
Have fun traveling around this
little slice of the US, but for pity's sake please be
careful.
