Rhamphorynchus was a carnivore that lived 230 -144 million years ago. They had hollow bones and wings of skin enabling them to fly. Their wingspan was up to 35'. Scientists are still trying to determine whether Rhamphorynchus flapped its wings to take off or if it could only glide from high cliffs and trees.
