Geocache Description:

Come and eat a buffet breakfast with your fellow geocachers on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 9 a.m. in Springfield, IL.

The event will take place at Old Country Buffet in Springfield, Illinois. The cost for breakfast is $7.59 + tax per adult, $7.29 for seniors and child prices (for 12 and under are .50 cents per year and under 2 are free). Breakfast hours are 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The actual announcements and drawings will be between 9:00 and 9:45 a.m.

There will be door prizes, good fellowship and new area caches; A list of area caches available at the event and I am sure some of the area cachers will be willing to provide assistance. All CIGA events are a lot of fun and we really hope to see a lot of new cachers attend. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge other than your breakfast fee!

There will be two hours of free climbing at The Silo, Inc., in Rochester, courtesy of Team Cooper, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for those that sign up at the breakfast. For the young at heart, or some of the adventurous among us, this will be a good opportunity to get in some serious exercise before heading out for a day of flatlands caching. (N 39 44.914 W089 32.067, off of Illinois 29 in Rochester, IL)

While caching in area you will find numerous references to an early pre-GPS central Illinois Geocacher. We hope that you enjoy our area as much as he did and have the time to visit some of the area sites that are based on him or other historical events.

Many of our local caches have a historical context. If you have already found all of the area caches, you may want to stop and visit some of the local attractions.
