You’re invited to a very informal get together that is located right off I85 between Charlotte and Gastonia. Come and enjoy a meal with other cachers in the area.
WHY: Why not? Everyone seemed to enjoy the one we had last year and there hasn't been any other events around, so let's do it again.
WHEN: Saturday May 20th, starting at 6 pm.
WHERE: It will be held at a local BBQ restaurant. They have your typical BBQ fare of chopped meat, sliced meat, rib meat and chicken meat. They also have steaks, sandwiches, a salad bar and other lighter dishes. Kids under 4 get to eat for free. Don't get too confused by the event's name, it's not on the river. I just picked that name to show it's halfway between Charlotte and Gastonia.
TRAVEL BUGS & COINS: Feel free to bring them and swap them.
DOOR PRIZES: I will have a few door prizes for the event. If anyone else wants to donate something please let me know. Known so far are an unreleased/activated NCGeocoin (Silver) and one unreleased/activated NCGeocoin (Gold) - Also there will be two Baby Loggerhead coins (unactivated)(Thanks Loggerhead family) and Catcastle has donated several micro containers.
SMALL PRINT: Please post a note letting me know how many people will be attending. We will have our own area/room but I need to let them know about how many are coming so they can have enough tables set up.
Last year I heard from a few people after the event that said they wanted to come, but were new to Geocaching and wasn't sure if they should - By all means, even if you've never been caching, this will be a great way to get introduced to it.
