Geocache Description:

Another in the series highlighting points of interest in what makes Eau Claire Eau Claire.

The red building seen very close to the cache is all that is left of a collection of buildings that, toward the end of their use were the 4H fair grounds. However, during World War II, these buildings housed Prisoners of War (almost all German). Stories about of the POWs walking out, going to the local bars, drinking and meeting local ladies, families, and once the war was over, sneaking away and settling down.
