I can hear it already – “She’s placed another train cache.”
On the spur of the moment today I stopped at the Centralia Union Depot, 210 Railroad Avenue. I walked inside and felt as if I had been transported back to my childhood. The same benches. The same woodwork. The same tile in the bathroom. The same lights. The same... – well, you get the idea.
I watched a few trains, met some people who were leaving for California, took a picture of them, and then decided to place a cache.
I wanted it as close to the station entry as possible so that you just wouldn’t be able to resist going inside and taking a few minutes to appreciate it all. It is open daily 9 am to 4:30 pm. Time your visit for those hours if at all possible so that you can experience the beauty inside the building.
As Agent Kenneth Moore said when I asked permission to place the cache, "When you spend more than 2 million dollars on a renovation, you want as many people as possible to come and see it."
Enjoy!
CRITICAL - to log a find for this cache, you must retrieve it and sign the log. If you don't have a pen or pencil with you, either come back and sign it or send a photo to me of the open log and the container in your hand. Do not post this photo with your log - send it directly to me, the CO.
