Geocache Description:

Along an easily walked portion of the Rainbow Run trail in Earl Rowe Provincial Park. CAUTION: Cache may contain fish hooks.

The Boyne River is a tributary of the Nottawasaga River which is well known for its spring run of rainbow trout. Take a walk to the dam during April and you may be rewarded with a view of these beautiful fish making their way up the ladder. Check out the display about rainbows on the southwest side of the dam.
Park at the main gate (a provincial park pass will be required from May to early October). The Rainbow Run hiking trail begins at the dam, but is easily found heading south from the road to the pool. Enjoy the entire trail (approx. 2 km) that has upland, meadow, reforested and pond-side portions.
To avoid damaging local vegetation, please do not venture off of the trail. The cache can be accessed year round within 3 metres of the trail.
Of course, the theme of the cache is related to fishing. Remember, fishing involves hooks that readily catch on people.
