Geocache Description:

Jurassic park:

The cache is hidden in a park which is one of it’s kind in the country. It was started in 1971 by T.C. Owen, and the prehistoric creatures (which are lifesize) were built by Jan van Zijjl who designed the old 5 cent piece.

The gardens were planned with the help of the person who planned the Lowveld Botanical Garden. There is a variety of indigenous plants and cycads, one of which is the Humilis, which is found only in these dolomite-rich mountains.

The entrance fee is R30 for adults, and R20 for children aged 5-15. Guided tours are available on request.
