How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This is a 3 stage mulitcache. You need to visit the two given locations to determine the final location. The cache location can only be determined between the hours of 9am and 5pm. The degrees and whole minutes of the final location are the same as at the start.

At the start coordinates, have a look around – you will find two expressions, a 2 word expression, and a three word expression. (ie 5 words). I’ll call the first word in the two word expression word 1, (it has 12 letters). Make a note of the words, and using A=1, B=2 etc, sum the letter values of the words.

At the second waypoint you need to look for some white lights. Count how many there are. (Wall mounted - In the tunnel only!)

To determine the decimal portion of the final south coordinate: Take the sum of the letters in all 5 words and add (the number of lights x 26).
To determine the decimal portion of the east coordinate: Take the sum of the letters in the first word, and add (the number of lights x 13).

The cache should not be far away. – Happy hunting, and please ensure you cover the cache well when you leave.
