11.3 km from the top of the Dasklip Pass, follow the signs to Groot Winterhoek Wilderness Area. Park in the parking area at the entrance. About 100 m to the SE near the top of a rocky outcrop,near a two waboom, hidden deep, deep in a crack beneath a big rock. Keep your eyes peeled for rock trolls on the road in.
This 30 000ha wilderness area is your playground. With numerous cheap accomodation options and a couple of caves in the area you can hike, swim, fish, get lost and be free! Loads of birds, flowers and bokkies and if you look carefully even a couple of rock trolls.
