Bridge Creek Falls, is a doubled tiered,40 foot high falls in the Oregon Coast range. The enchanting trail leading to the falls, was developed with precision not seen since the Columbia River Historic Highway, and was built at the turn of the century. It leads from the road, up carefully laid stairs to the base of the upper tier, where a stone catch basin for some kind of fresh water system is slowly decaying away. A bench at the base of the falls provides a perfect artists' view of the falls. I have driven past this falls many times over the years and have never stopped, until we decided this would be a perfect location for a cache. I have rated this cache at a higher difficulty, because of some of the safety hazards there. The trail is not a difficult climb, with steps and gravel path. From the parking coordinates, you will need to walk several hundred feet along a very busy highway, then ascending the trail, you will find yourself above the creek. Dogs must be on a leash, and children must be held onto carefully. The cache is hidden in a deep canyon, and coordinate readings will be erratic. Also there will be heavy tree cover during the growing season, that will also make readings difficult.
