Kurzer, schneller, einfacher Cache in Berlin Mitte.
Es ist nicht die Suche selbst, die dieses Mal zählt. Es ist die Geschichte des Ortes.
Auf dem Areal das den Cache beherbergt ist heute nur noch ein harmloser Park- und Spielplatz zu sehen.
Vor über 60 Jahren befand sich an genau dieser Stelle der Führerbunker, in dem Adolf Hitler und viele seiner
Schergen glücklicherweise ihr Ende kurz vor der Eroberung Berlins fanden.
Die Stelle des Cacheverstecks entspricht in etwa dem Platz, an welchem
Hitler und Goebbels nebst Ehefrauen nach ihrem Selbstmord verbrannt wurden. Vom Bunker selbst
sind nur noch unter der Erde einige Fragmente vorhanden.
Vieles wurde von der damaligen DDR-Regierung geprengt und abgetragen.
Wen die Thematik näher interessiert, der schaue sich den Film "Der Untergang" an oder lese das
Buch "Mythos Führerbunker" von Sven Felix Kellerhoff.

Der Cache wurde wenige Meter verlegt, die Koordinaten leicht angepaßt.
Das Spoiler-Bild wurde entfernt, da nicht mehr aktuell.

28. Juni 2009 - ACHTUNG neue Koordinaten und neues Foto!
Gemeinsam mit Turducken habe ich den Cache aufgrund des sehr hohen
Muggel-Aufkommens durch Touristen und Anwohner verlegt.
Er liegt jetzt noch genauer am ehemaligen "Verbrennungs- Platz".
Orientiert Euch am Metall! (Siehe Foto oben)
Übrigens Der Plan auf der Hinweistafel ist falsch positioniert, er muss
um 90 Grad gegen den Uhrzeigersinn gelesen werden!
29. Oktober 2007:
Nochmal: Das Foto ist nicht mehr aktuell, da dass Efeu abgeholzt wurde.
Es dient nur noch zur groben Orientierung als Spoiler!
Es laufen einige Muggels dort herum (Wohngebiet) und ihr solltet Euch unauffällig
verhalten, schnell sein und auch den Log an einem anderen Ort vornehmen.
Der Cache ist ein Micro, der neben einer Logrolle nichts enthält
und wohl auch nichts mehr aufnehmen kann. Er liegt jetzt
hinter einem kleinen Baumstumpf, etwa 80 cm Luftlinie von der alten Stelle mit dem Efeu entfernt.
Die Koordinaten haben sich nicht verändert!
03. Juni 2007: Der Efeubusch wurde abgeholzt. Der Cache steckt nun zwischen Mauer und Rohr,
auf Bodenhöhe. Schön unauffällig bleiben beim suchen!
09. Juni 2006: Seit dieser Woche steht nun eine Informationstafel an diesem Ort,
die weitere Infos und Karten bereithält. Diese Tafel erhöht natürlich die Muggel-Gefahr ...

Short, fast, simple cache in the center of Berlin.
It´s not the search itself that counts this time - it´s the history of the place.
In the area the cache is hidden, you can see just a harmless parking- place and a playground.
More than 60 years ago, exactly at this point the so- called "Fuehrerbunker" was located. Adolf Hitler´s
last Bunker in which he lived the last days of World War II and in which he also finally shot himself.
The spot of the cache-location is merely the spot, where Hitler and Goebbels plus their two wives
have been burnt after their suicide. The Bunker itself is almost vanished, just some fragments remained some feet
under the ground. Many of it was blown up by the old GDR-Government of the former East Berlin.

in 2005) or get some google-infos, there should be much to find.

The cache has been mislaid a few metres, the coords have changed slightly.
The spoiler-pic has been deleted, because it was out of date now due to the changes.
28. June 2009 - ATTENTION! New coords and new Pic!
I replaced the Cache together with Turducken today, because of the high amount
of Muggles (people who live there and tourists).
Its now located even more exactly at the "burning place".
Take a good look at the metal (see pic above).
By the way: The plan on the information-plate is positioned wrong, it should
be read 90 degrees counter-clockwise!
29. October 2007:
Again: The picture above isn´t up-to-date anymore, because the ivory -bush is gone! It´s just shown
here as a guidance. There are a lot of muggles around (residental district) and you should beware
of attracting attention, be fast and do the log entry at another place. The Cache is a micro:
nothing more in it than a log-book and a pencil.
It´s location is behind a little tree stump, about 80 cm away from the old location with the ivorybush.
The coords have not changed!
03. June 2007: The bush has been rooted out. The cache is now hidden between the wall and
the drainpipe at a low level. Be a stealthy-cacher while searching!
09. June 2006: This week an Informationplate has been installed near this place. You can find more
Informations and maps on it. This plate surely increases the danger of muggles ...
