Nice walk from Fosnstraumen bridge: After about 350 metres, the
path diverts, keep right. The trail can sometimes be a litle bit
wet, so i recommend rubberboots for this trip. There are also other
trails to the place. Look at the map for this trails. The place and
the cache is close to the sea, so navicaching is also possible.
Hoplandskvernene: ”Hoplandskvernene” are old mills that
have been restored in the early 70’s. Old documents suggests that
there have been mills on this site back to 15’th century. The
arrangement consists of two mills connected to each other via a
stone-aqueduct, taking energy from a small river that has a sudden
drop of approximately 2-3 metres on this site. The mills are
situated with easy access to the sea. This was important due to the
fact that boats were used for almost all transportation of goods
and people between the many islands in this region.
