Geocache Description:

A regular cache in a little known tract of land in north central Manatee County

This is a recently discovered area called the Little Manatee River Southfork Tract located in north central Manatee County. Parking for this cache is located at N27 35.322 W82 14.359 and the hike is pretty tame as far as country hikes go. There may be much more to explore here but this is just an introduction to the area. This is a 970 acre tract of land operated by SWFWMD. Information can be located at :

And there appear to be more trails then are shown on this information. The name of this was going to incorporate Southfork until I saw a large gopher tortoise ramble out of the palmettos and eat grass as fast as a goat. So the name was adjusted to accommodate this starving little guy.
