Geocache Description:

This multi stage cache is designed to be completed at night. The chances of completing this cache during the daytime is slim to none. Moderate terrain changes and a few stages varying in difficulty await you. All equipment and information will be provided for you on your route. All you need to bring is a good flashlight, your guts, your wits, and your sense of adventure. You are looking for a medium sized Lock & Lock storage container for Stage One.

Welcome to The Dark Is Rising! This is a night-time geocache so don't head out until it's dark! Recommended parking coordinates are:

N 41. 09.964 W 095 57.772

From there follow the dirt road on foot until you need to do some light bushwacking to Stage One. Please remember to watch your footing as you will be searching at night. Also be wary of muggles who may or may not be using the trail system at night. Stage one is a Lock & Lock container. Use what you find there to locate/determine the instructions/coordinates to Stage Two. Please remember to replace and rehide all equipment exactly as you found it before moving on to Stage Two of your quest.

Once you reach Stage Two, simply follow the instructions you received at Stage One. It is recommended that you hold your flashlight at eye level (up by the side of your head) as you journey for the best results. Once you complete Stage Two you will be rewarded for your bravery, cunning and perseverance with a large ammo can cache. There is also a nice FTF prize for the lucky first finder.

The total hike will be about a half mile with varying degrees of terrain/elevation. Some light bushwacking will be necessary. Please be cautious as you navigate this cache as the terrain/elevation does change. Wearing long pants would be recommended. I wouldn't recommend trying to find this cache during or after a heavy rain as some areas may become slick. I have rated the terrain and difficulty based upon the darkness factor and the terrain changes.

I hope that you enjoy finding this cache. I wanted it to be something fun, adventurous and a little different. I have opted not to leave a clue as I don't think that you'll need one. Time will tell....

Good luck and above all, have fun! Remember, in the Dark no one can SEE you scream.....

The Dark Is Rising....indeed!
