This cache is a tribute to the pioneers who first settled Wisconsin. The container is a camo Lok n'Lok. Please rehide as good or better than you found it. Cacalin or Kockaloo are early names for Kaukauna. Dominique Ducharme was the first white man to settle here.(1790)
Augustin Grignon,a fur trader and a grandson of Charles de Langlade, bought the land from Ducharme and added on to the log house. He lived there with his family until his death in 1842. The log home stood until 1894. His son, Charles Grignon, built the frame house for his family. It became known as the "Mansion in the Woods." The house still stands today and tours are given by reservation.
