Mork from Ork first appeared in an episode of Happy Days in 1978 when he attempted to kidnap Richie Cunningham to be part of an experiment.
Mork, played by Robin Williams, returned in 1979 with his own series, Mork & Mindy. The Orkan is sent from his planet Ork, in his egg-shaped spacecraft, to study earthlings. He lands near Boulder, CO, and is befriended by Mindy, played by Pam Dawber. The first season was a big hit, finishing in #3 behind Laverne & Shirley and Three's Company. The "all knowing" network and producers then made many changes to the show and moved it from Thursday to Sunday. This lost nearly half of the audience. Attempts were made to regain the magic including adding Mork's son, Mearth, played by Jonathan Winters (Orkans age backwards)but 1981 was the last season.
