Located in Hewitt State Forest
If you park at N42 44.832,W076 13.398 on Hewitt Road in the town of Scott you will be very close. This is DEC land so there could be hunters in the fall. There are many trails but none are marked. Lots of blow down from past storms. The area is mentioned in William Ehling's Fifty Hikes in Central New York. The cache is located up the hill from a small earthen bridge with beatiful simple old stone work. It makes you "paws" to think about earlier residents of this area. Quiet area ...good for exploring.
