This cache is on 'Horseshoe Common' near to the centre of Bournemouth.
The Common became known as Horseshoe Common in the 1870s.
It gets it's name from the shape of Dean Park Road that encircled the site. It was laid out as pleasure grounds containing some exotic specimen trees and an ornamental pond.
The mixed woodland supports a variety of bird species.
Sparrowhawk,Song Thrushes, Nut Hatches, Tree Creeper, and both Green and Greater Spotted Woodpeckers have been spotted on the Common.
The cache container is a small rectangular plastic box.
Although it is possible to access this area at night, we recommend that it is done in daylight.
