THE LISTED COORDINATES WILL TAKE YOU TO THE PARKING LOT ADJACENT TO
THE PICNIC GROUNDS AND SHELTER HOUSE.
This will be the 1st ever Geocaching Picnic to be held at the
Mark Twain Lake and; if all goes well, it may not be the last.
The Army Corps Of Engineers is VERY supportive of Geocaching at
the lake & are donating the shelter house for the event &
will be promoting it through the local media. A big THANK YOU goes
out to them!!!
The event will be an informal "carry in" type lunch followed by
a day of caching & then camping and lie telling around the
campfire for those who are interested.
9 new permanent caches were placed on 4/23/06, but will not be
listed until closer to the event date.
An additional permanent cache was hidden today, May 10th.
Thanks to Forester Al, one of the Rangers from the Corps Of
Engineers for placing a cache today, May 17th, bring the total to
11 new caches in addition the the 4 existing caches around the
lake.
Please post a note if you are planning to attend along with the
number of people in your party & what you will be bringing to
eat. No food will be provided, so we will need everything from
desert to meat. We will plan on eating at noon, but feel free to
show up any time after 10:00 am.
Check back periodically for updates.
To view a list of local campgrounds click on "User's web page"
at the top of the page. This will link you to the Corps web page.
We will be staying at Frank Russell Rec. Area
We hope to see you all there!
For those who are new to caching or have never attended an event,
this is a loggable cache & will count toward your find totals!
Thanks & God bless!
