Geocache Description:

This is a small cache with room for log only. A nice park and grab.

The cache is located by Turnpike road. Back in the 1860's, This was a toll road. The stagecoach had to pay at the toll gate at the summit house. The company that built this road was called the Turnpike Road Company. It was headed by two men by the name of Dr. Samuel B. Brinkerhoff and lawyer Charles Fernald. This part of the road between Hollister and Cathedral Oaks road is still known today as Turnpike road.
