Geocache Description:

ROCKTOWN NATURAL AREA-park at the Trail Parking Area

This cache replaces the cache that I had along the Rocktown hiking trail. I moved it once when I was pre-warned that they were going to have a burn..then the cedar tree that it had hidden under for almost two years was cut down so I moved it to a new location where it was for about a year when it and it's contents melted in a grass burn. The old plastic tackelbox held up real well to the end.

This cache is located north of I-70 at exit 206 and south of the Garden of Eden (Lucas) at Wilson Lake. You will need to cross through a camping check-in gate but no permit is required to hike the trail. The trail..if you wish to take it..is well maintained and mowed. The trail is a nice 3 mile loop which can easily be walked in about 2 hours...you will enjoy a scenic overlook of the unique Rocktown formations made from sandstone and limestone.

The cache is not actually located on the trail but accessed from the parking area.

The Cache container is a cammo-painted ammobox. Contents are: logbook, pen, pencils, and Geo-paper & miscellaneous items to trade.
