Geocache Description:


Hawthorne has been a military town since 1930 when the U.S. Navy commissioned the local ammunition plant. During World War II this area became known as "The Worlds Largest Ammunition Depot". The support provided our troops is legend. You will be visiting a museum which grew up in recent years and which proudly calls attention to our dedication and devotion to those who have, and are, serving this great country.
The cache can be found any time of the year; day or night. Cache site gets moved around occasionally so coordinates may be off a little.
