Geocache Description:

Clues reworked 09/11/2018.

23/07/2021 - please see note regarding adjustment to final location.

This cache will take you on a walk around Peterborough City Centre. The cache is totally buggy friendly and is about a 2.5 Mile round trip from the starting point.

If you have not been to Peterborough before I suggest you go to the tourist information office, which is in front of the cathedral. They do a very good map of the town center, I recommend you get one, they are free, and will help! It is also important to make sure you get to the cathederal before 4.30pm as the gates shut at this time and you will not be able to do the rest of the geocache (SO DO NOT START TOO LATE!)

Be careful of nearby muggles, as they will be close.

You are looking for a Small lock-and-lock-type container with log book and pencil and there is room for small swaps. The cache is 0.4miles from the last waypoint, so watch out if it's late or you're knackered it's a 20-30min round trip. Or you may choose to go and get the car and drive a bit closer. Please use stealth when searching for the final cache.

Walk west down Church Street(road passing by the left of the Guildhall as you looked at its front.) Turn left down Cross Street, and turn right at the junction into Priestgate. Turn left down Bridge Street and walk as far as the archway through to the Cathedral. Follow the road to the left until you reach a gate. You are looking for the head of a famous man in stone. What was his number? Call this E.

Follow the road round the double bend of Wheel Yard. At the end on the right, look for a milepost. How far from Thorney is it from this point? Call this F.

Turn left into Midgate and right into Broadway, and walk towards the Library. In front of the library there is a milepost. What is the route number? Call this G.

Walk back down Midgate, and turn right down Westgate. Right left down Westgate Arcade. Walk down the arcade, straight through the shopping centre and out the other side to Cumbergate. The stone building on the left was built by the Feoffees on funds bequeathed by a MISS FRANCES PEARS. But what was the year? Last digit of the year for your answer. Call this H.

Turn left, then turn right to walk back in front of the Guildhall again. Look for a white Tudor-beamed building with some figurines.
