This site is part of The Bruce Freeman Rail Trail (http://www.BruceFreemanRailTrail.org), a 25-mile trail from Framingham to Lowell that is still in the process of being completed. When finished, this will be a non-motorized transportation corridor to town centers, shopping districts, athletic fields, and schools.
The rails and ties have been removed and there is a level stone (rough) surface. This surface will be paved in Phase 3 of the project but right now the trail is easily walked or you can use a mountain bike. The walk will take you through marshlands (you’ll be high and dry) and meadows with plenty of birdlife, bring your field glasses. I’ve even seen a small herd of deer (8) cross my path. Some of the area on either side of the path is private (and posted No Trespassing) so stay on the old rail bed. If you go during the right time of the year (July-August) there are plenty of ripe berries (blackberry or raspberry?) waiting to be enjoyed.

Parking can be found to the north at N42°21.608', W071°25.463' or from the south at N42°20.166', W071°25.843'.
Waypoint 1 and the final site are both "winter friendly".
Alternative method of finding the final: 1) When you reach the coordinates you will find an attachment on the right side with an embossed number in the format of #####-##X with # representing a digit from 0-9 and ending in X. 2) ABCDE = first 5 digits - 24877; FGHIJ = (last 2 digits)(302)+(4xD). 3) N 42° AB.CDE, W071° FG.HIJ
