This is a micro cache (a film canister) with only a log sheet inside – too small for trading. PLEASE BRING OWN PEN TO COMPLETE LOG SHEET.
We pass the bridge on the N6 over the Caledon River frequently on our way to Bloemfontein. Every time we drive by the kids beg me to stop and hide a cache near the bridge. Today I finally gave in and let them find a spot to hide this micro – eventually we hid this little roadside cache, so get out and stretch the legs before continuing on your journey.
The present bridge was erected in 1957 – but look downstream from the bridge and you’ll see the sandstone pillars of the old bridge a little way off.
Safe parking is available not too far off, but be very alert and beware of oncoming traffic as the road can be very busy. Drive safely!
