Geocache Description:

Due South is located on the Leslie Spit - Tommy Thompson Park, near the southern most part of Toronto.

It's about a 5k hike from the entrance off of Leslie St. and Unwin Ave (N 43°39.142' W 079°19.378'). Recent construction has closed parts of Leslie St near Unwin Ave so you might only get access from Unwin St and Cherry St. Parking is nearby but pay attention to gate closing times, they *will* lock your car in, however if you're on foot/bike/roller blades you can easily bypass the gate.

In the last 5 years they have resurfaced the entire spit. Asphalt now brings you within 100m of GZ with packed gravel taking you to the cache. You'll likely have to take off rollerblades, and if you have an expensive road bike with slicks, you might want to walk it the last little bit. On the way to the cache, there are multiple gravel paths off the main road. Signs prohibit bikes on these paths, but walking them leads to interesting places to stop for bird watching or photography. Explore Tommy Thompson Park's official site for more information about this unique urban wilderness.

The Park is open to the public on holidays and weekends during the day, but only after 5:00pm during the week so please take this fact into consideration when planning your trip.

The cache is a .30 Cal ammo can that has seen better days. It still seals well, sometimes too well making it tricky to open.

This was the starting point for our Mulder TB (TBMQ35), he hopes to travel to Vancouver with a few stops on the way.

We've also added our Scully TB (TBMQ35), she has since been abducted, see her page for more information. She has been found and is continuing her journey.

Congrats to Cedar Grove Seekers for being FTF
