Since I placed the cache a mountain bike track has been made which runs right next to the cache. From memory I originally placed the cache on the downside of the tree it's next to, but the underbrush there is so dense that it will have to stay where it is right next to the track, SO PLEASE REHIDE IT WELL!
The Old Bullock track was the original roadway for pioneer travel between Adelaide and its surrounding settlements. The bullockies started their treks up from Magill and followed ridge tracks to Eagle on the Hill, and thence to the farming communities further inland.
The track runs through Mount Osmond reserve which contains remnant native flora. Burnside council, through its Biodiversity section, is involved in the conservation of this and other areas.
The verge alongside the track plays host to many species. These include Garland lily, Chocolate lily, Sun orchids, Onion orchids, Running Postman and Native cranberry. Several species have their only known Burnside occurrence at this site including Phebalium hillebrandii and Lagenifera huegelii.
Because this area is delicate, please stick to the paths and trails. There are nice views of the adjacent Waterfall Gully area.
Cache is a 1 litre Sistema box.
The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates although this is a good parking spot and it is within a kilometre.
