Childhood reloaded Traditional Cache

In diesem Wald war ich vor über 20 Jahren fast jeden Tag. Jetzt zum ersten Mal wieder hier gewesen. Die Kinder waren begeistert. Lianen, Moosbetten, Felsen, tolle Verstecke - hier gibts für Kinder (und Erwachsene) viel zu erleben. Aber: Es ist sehr steil und mitunter sehr rutschig hier, daher haben wir das Terrain-Rating mal auf 4 Sterne gesetzt. Kleinere Kinder würden wir hier nicht mit hinnehmen (unsere sind 6 und 8 und Caching-erprobt). Am besten erreicht man den Cache in dem man Parkplatz erst ein wenig Richtung Ost-Nordost am Waldrand entlangläuft. Dann irgendwann rein in den Wald Richtung Norden und "auf halber Höhe" weiter grob Richtung Nordost. Wir waren 3 Mal dort und haben immer andere Koordinaten erhalten, daher haben wir mal mehr Spoilerbilder als sonst dazugepackt. Der Cache sollte auch nachts zu machen sein, aber empfehlen würden wir das nicht, das Gelände ist (auch wetterabhängig) nicht ungefährlich wenn man nicht aufpasst. Wir sind in diesem Wald auch als Kinder damals noch nie jemandem begegnet, wahrscheinlich ist das heute auch noch so. Früher konnte man von den Felsen noch auf die Lahn schauen, heute muss man durch die höher gewordenen Bäume linsen :-)

Over 20 years ago I used to be in this forest nearly every day. Placing this cache was the first time here again since then. The kids went with me and they had a lot of fun. They found beds of moss, vines, rocks, many places to hide.... But: The area is very steep and partially very slippery. Therefore we set the terrain rating to 4 stars. We would not take smaller children (ours are 6 and 8 years and experienced cachers :-))
The cache can best be reached starting off at the parking coordinates. From there go along the forest direction east-northeast for a while. Then go northwards into the forest and about halfway down, then towards northeast again. We went there 3 times now and got different coordinats every time, thus we put some more spoiler photos online... I assume the cache can be done at night but we would not recommend that because the terrain is quite demanding! When we were children we never met anyone in this forest and this has probably not changed. In former time you could see the river Lahn standing on the rocks, today the trees have grown so high, thus the scenic view is not quite the way it used to be :-)
