Most of the attendees at a CITO event in Gorges State Park caravaned over to find the Rainbow Falls cache. We had a great time -- the falls were flowing fast and furious -- and I placed this cache. While placing the cache we met Marvin -- a very friendly dog. His dogtag reads, "I LIVE CLOSE TO GORGES STATE PARK; I WILL GO HOME". He accompanied the group for almost our entire hike. Bonus points will be awarded for photos of you and Marvin! [Marvin no longer lives in the area. Bummer.]
Turtleback Falls is just upstream from Rainbow Falls. We saw kayakers going over Turtleback Falls! Insane!! You are looking for an ammo can. Please rehide it at least as well hidden as you found it! The photo loaded to the cache page shows the location of the cache, but likely won't help.
Gorges State Park has done a bunch of work on this area of the park -- new roads, new trails, etc. Though this cache is located pretty close to 281 it is NOT legal to access the cache from that direction. Please turn in to Gorges State Park at N 35° 06.667 W 82° 57.722 and follow the road to the parking lot at N 35° 05.328 W 82° 57.111. The round-trip hike to this cache is 3.5 miles. Enjoy!
FTF HONORS GO TO Nechton!!!
