The coordinates above are not where the cache is. There are 2 stages to this cache. First, park in the lay-by at the above co-ordinates, find a nearby sign and calculate the coordinates of the cache. Second, walk the short distance up to the top of the hill and find the cache, craftily hidden in an outcrop near the summit. This is a great spot for a cache, with a wide panorama over Borrowdale and the surrounding countryside.
Stage 1 – calculate the cache coordinates
Park in the lay-by then walk up the road to the tight corner and the sets of chevrons. There are various signs on the back all giving the following info:

Please note, one chevron was missing and has now been replaced by a new one. Ignore the Amey sign.
Stage 2 – finding the cache It’s only about 750m from the signs to the summit, but is a height gain of almost exactly 150m. Rising above the trees is a small rocky outcrop, with lovely folded and layered rock. The rest of the ridge makes a lovely walk, before dropping down into the Borrowdale valley, returning to the lay-by along a good bridleway. There are other caches on the ridge and in the valley to make a good round.
Please ensure you rehide the box in the same place, leaving as little sign of your passing as possible, and reseal the lid well. Thanks. Hope you enjoy the hunt.
