Amicalola area's Newest Travel Bug Hotel
This Four-Star hotel is located on the "East Ridge" trail in Amicalola Falls State Park, and used to be considered part of the "Amicalola Approach Trail" to the Appalachian Trail, which begins (or ends) at the summit of Springer Mountain.
Here, weary bugs ready for a bit of relaxation after their trek South can relax, and swap tales with fresh bugs just preparing to make their trek Northward. This is the home of "A.T.BUNNIE" after he finishes his managerial training and secures the staff appropriate to such an establishment (however, "A.T." anticipates long absences while conversing with other travel bug hotel managers in order to insure that this establishment maintains the highest standards). An open-air veranda is located on the premises, from which the residents and staff can watch new guests arrive and old friends depart. Also located nearby is a beautiful waterfalls visited by many from around the world.
Those visitors wishing to pose with the staff are welcome to do so ... just retrieve them from their quarters, and take your pictures. Please return the staff to their quarters (and note that they are NOT trade items).
A.T. reports that the staff also welcomes cachers visiting whether or not they have bugs seeking a respite from the rigors of their travels -- all are welcome! However, other local residents may be visiting on the premises, and the bell-boys may require assistance in removing them when guests arrive, so be sure to examine the site carefully beforehand to avoid incidents.
A.T. wishes to thank the staff of Amicalola Falls State Park for allowing him to set the hotel up on such a beautiful spot. In accordance with park regulations, the cache has a combination lock. You may determine this by one of two methods:
Method 1) From the visitors center, go to the arch and note the number there. The combination is the last 4 digits of that number (throw out the decimal point). However, this may change from time to time, as changes occur in the routing of the Appalachian Trail itself.
Method 2) Find the 'Full Summer Pool' level of nearby Lake Sidney Lanier, and add 14. This method should always be correct.
Please be certain to observe park regulations while seeking this (as well as other) caches in the area.
Congrats to AlansGal for FTF!!
