Geocache Description:

A really pleasant trail with two picnic tables at either end of the wood and a convenient bench about half way. The route to the start of the trail will be be moody if wet. Plenty of parking.

The cache is stored above the village that the Scottish author and poet Thomas Carlyle was born. You can even have a look around his birthplace before or after taking in the cache.

If you fancy some light refreshment pop into the Ecclefechan Hotel and tell Steve that you have found the cache. They're maybe an extra reward in it for you. But don't tell him I said that.
