Partyin' at the Distillery (#9 of Series) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: Greetings from Geocaching.com

I have had no contact with the cache owner since my last note and there has been no notes posted to the cache page in that time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.
When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link (Mine) across the top and then click on this cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Cache-tech

Geocache Description:

We're still pluggin' the geocaching hole here in Inverness! Now, we take you to the Glenora Distillery, throwers of a great ceilidh, and makers of North America's only single malt whiskey!

"Nar laga Dia do lahm" Series

Cache #9

"It is Glenora Inn and Distillery's pleasure to welcome you with all the Highland pride of the past and present. Experience the Gaelic language, music, and culture that awaits you, in the heart of the Gaidhealtachd."

The Glenora Inn & Distillery is located at Glenville, Inverness County, Nova Scotia, Canada. The Glenora Distillery, with an annual production of 250,000 litres of whisky, is the only single malt distillery in North America. The Distillery started production in June 1990. Glenora Distillery is located on a 300 acre site. The seven buildings house malt, kiln, milling production, warehouses, bottling, and hospitality facilities. The structures were constructed in a traditional post and beam style, similar in nature to distilleries found in Scotland. The distillery and tourism facilities were constructed during the period 1988-1990. The current owners acquired the building in April, 1994. The annual production capacity of 250,000 litres can be expanded to 400,000 - 500,000 litres per annum with reasonable additional expenditures.

To get to the location, travel to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, over the Canso Causeway and travel along Trunk 19 towards Creignish, Judique, and Port Hood way. Drive straight through Trunk 19 on the way to Inverness, and park up by the Glenora Distillery on the way!

A visit is strongly encouraged! They offer tours of the entire facility, I'm sure they have a ceilidh schedule close by if you just ask, you can stay overnight in their nine beautifully placed country cottages, and the site itself is a beautiful one. :) With a lot of good times, and a lot of history, Hail be, it's the Glenora Distillery!
