Girl of the Limberlost: We hid this cache in April 2006. Thirteen years! We replaced the hook, container, and log a couple times. The tree this cache hung on succumbed to spruce bark beetle. As did his huge neighbor. So sad. Another one bites the dust!

Geocache Description:

Welcome to Palmer! Located in the very heart of Palmer, the above coordinates bring you to Balto, a wonderful garden, crossroads of the world, and The Grove.

First cache of four caches in the "Welcome to Palmer" Series. Stage 1 is a virtual of a 2-part mini cache (and 1 of 4 separate) caches in the "Welcome to Palmer" mini-series. These first coords take you to a local landmark/memorial w/ info that will guide you to stage 2 which is camoed (with barely room to hold a small log and pencil).

Remember that you must find both stages to claim the find. If you find Stage I and delay your trek to Stage 2 please post a note to that effect, but do not claim you "found it." Stage I is fairly easy. I'm hoping that Stage II will be a bit of a bugger.

Coords to take you to part 2 of the multi-cache are N 61 35.ABC and W 149 06.DEF Fill in the blanks of those coords w/ the code below. These clues were updated on 8/10/14.

A = # of digits in the first word on this tree.

C =Last number in the day of dedication plus last number in year of dedication
D = 1st # in the year of dedication
E =1st # in the American Auxillary
F =American Legion Post # last digit minus first digit
