A wonderful view from the Big Bay de Noc side of Sac Bay Park. Walk the trail from the parking area. Be careful walking on the beach rocks, it would be easy to turn an ankle.
You are looking for an ammo can but it could be anywhere! However, it is not under an overhang, we wouldn't want any rocks to fall on you while you're searching. When we maintained the cache, we found the cache hidden under the bluff. DO NOT PLACE THE CACHE THERE. It looks like a perfect hiding spot but someone could get a rock in the head!
You will see much exposed limestone along the little bluff (nothing like the spectacular Burnt Bluff to the north). The Manistique and Burnt Bluff limestone & dolomite formations that make up the entire peninsula are soluble. If you keep a sharp eye out as you drive the peninsula, you may spot a sinkhole or two where the underlying limestone has dissolved and collapsed forming a conical depression in the landscape. A cave or two are known to exist on the peninsula as well.
