Saturnia, leggenda e realta'
Secondo antiche leggende il dio Saturno, adirato per la
litigiosita' degli esseri umani che si traduceva in continue
guerre, scaglio' un fulmine sulla terra formando un cratere da cui
inizio' a zampillare dell'acqua tiepida, mentre l'atmosfera intorno
veniva avvolta da vapori. Gli uomini bagnandosi nella calda
sorgente d'acqua sciolsero tutti i rancori e gli attriti imparando
a essere piu' felici. Da quelle nebbie, rinacque una umanita'
rinnovata, piu' saggia e consapevole.
Questo posto leggendario, noto già agli Etruschi ed agli
antichi Romani per le virtu' cosmetiche ed il potere rigenerante e'
Saturnia, dalle cui sorgenti termali sgorga un'acqua sulfurea alla
temperatura costante di 37° al ritmo di 800 litri al
secondo.
Saturnia, legend and reality
Ancient legend tells of how the god Saturn, furious with human
beings for how often they quarrelled and caused continuous wars,
hurled a bolt of lightening to earth, forming a crater from which
some tepid water began to gush, while the air around it was filled
with steam. The men bathing itself in the water source melted all
the rancors and the frictions learning to be happier. A new type of
humanity, wiser and more conscious of matters was reborn from those
mists.
This legendary place, well known to the Etruscans and the ancient
Romans for its cosmetic properties and regenerating powers, is
Saturnia, where sulphurous water at a constant temperature of
37° rises from the thermal springs at a rate of 800 litres per
second.
