Greetings,

It has been a while since I first looked at this cache. I can't find any recent responses about maintaining this cache so for the time being it will be archived and removed from the active cache listings. We are no longer leaving caches stay disabled for extended periods of time.

Groundspeak and the geocaching community appreciate your contributions to geocaching and I hope to see this cache back in operation soon.

If you can get it back up and running in the next week or so contact me to get it re-listed. Otherwise plan to move it slightly and set up a new cache page.

[green]Most problems can be solved with good communication so reply back to the reviewer and we will do everything possible within the guidelines to get your cache published. It is best to give me as much information as possible instead of saying nothing at all. This will speed up the process and we can get your cache published. [/green]

Geocache Description:

The cache is located about 90 feet off a trail, not too hard to find and shouldn't be very hard on the young ones if you pay attention to how you approach it.

To get to the parking lot, take Highway 36 West until you see the Long Branch Lake turnoff. Take this to the right and you'll see in a few hundred feet a turn you can make to the left. Take this and you'll pass in front of the Visitor's Center to your right, continue on past the Dam and keep going until you come to a childrens playground on your right. Choose a spot to park. The trail is a gravel trail.

From the parking lot to the cache is a bit less than 1/4 mile and should take you less than 30 minutes to walk to it and back. There's no need to cut cross country unless you want to, stay on the trail until you get within 100 feet or so and you'll save wear and tear on your hide. If you approach from the east side you'll find the terrain more friendly to the young ones. My 3 year old had no problems helping me hide it, so I'd say it's good for at least that age and up. Kids will love this one, but keep an eye on them. There is Poison Ivy to the west of the cache area, but the cache area is clear for now. If it becomes a problem let me know and I'll take care of it if I can.

The cache contains some items children can use. The starting contents are;

3 Dinosaurs
Green trees
Toy rocks
Expandable starfish
Dinosaur background picture
Toy truck.
Many Coins from around the world.

It's in a green ammo box.

If it's a hot day out, bring a swimsuit. The beach is just up the road and it's free. It's a pretty clean beach and I'm sure you'll find it refreshing if you managed to work up a sweat. There is no lifeguard present however.
