Overlooking The Carrs and the village of Brompton by Sawdon, this cache search can make as short or long a walk as you like. Brompton was the home of the "Father of British Flying", Sir George Cayley, who designed and built some of the first gliders. On a fine day, the views across to the Wolds are fantastic.
A suggested parking place is around N54 13.925 W000 33.210, and from here it is an easy walk of about 0.6 miles. Once you have signed the log and swapped goodies there are a couple of options for a circular walk. Carrying on in the same direction to N54 14.733 W000 33.617 there is a footpath to a road - follow this back to the parking location. For a longer walk, continue to N54 15.043 W000 33.771. Turning in the same direction as the earlier footpath will lead you to the same road. The latter walk is roughly 3-1/4 miles and has the great advantage of passing a traditional village House of Refreshment!
