A 7-mile hike along the Jefferson Equestrian trails
Parking available at the waypoint provided, walk through the gate and along the canal to the first geostake. There is a series of 3 geostakes at key trail intersections to keep you on course. All are white and easy to find. Coordinates for the first geostake are those given above for the cache, and each geostake is marked with the coordinates of the next stake. There are 4 other caches along the way. Distance to the cache is about 3.5 miles. From there you can either 1) return along the same trails to your car for a 7-mile total hike, or 2) return to the gate at the waypoint listed below for a 4+ mile total hike and take a second vehicle or bike along highway 301 back to the first gate. The cache is a 2 quart camouflaged lock n lock container tethered to a small tree. This cache was originally placed by duracell.
