This cache was hidden on my one year anniversary at geocaching.com to commemorate my 365th find on this date and it is also my 12th hide in as many months.
Use the parking/trailhead waypoint and from there, enjoy a 1km trail hike to the summit of Metchosin Mountain.
(PRKTRL) N 48º 23.667' W123º 32.039'
It may look like private property but it IS a public trail.
Stay on the straight & narrow going off to the right from here as the trail leads into the woods. Go left when you arrive at the junction of the wider trail and follow it to the summit.
The cache is a 1.5" X 4.5" X 7" Lock&Lock hidden near the top of a rotted out stump and is covered by "ambient debris". A small bowtie of white plastic has been tied just above it as a reference.
This is a fairly sparcely visited area so muggles should not be a problem but still ensure the cache is rehidden where it is supposed to be and concealed from sight.
Contestants who advanced beyond round one of the "Document Your Suffering" contest on VIGPS.com may be familliar with this locale as one of the nefarious "dummy" positions...
Initial contents included:
- log book, pencil, red pen
- stash notice on lid & desicant pak
