This is a two-stage multi-cache that starts at the historical
marker for Bruceville Baptist Church. This is the fifth in the
series "McLennan County History."
This church was organized as Salem Baptist Church about
1870-71 in the town of Mastersville. Early worship services were
held in the home of the minister, and in an arbor. The church name
was changed in 1884 to Mastersville Baptist Church. The
congregation moved 2 miles south to the new railroad town of
Bruceville. In 1896 a sanctuary was built that stood until 1975
when a new church building was erected in its place. The church
supports many outreach programs in the U.S. and in foreign nations,
and has served the community for more than 125 years.
When you find the marker, count down to the fifth line from the
top and write down the third-to-last word of that line. Use the
table at the bottom of this listing to determine the value of each
letter in the word. Add up these values, and put a decimal point in
front of it. (Don’t multiply by 10.) Add the result to both the
North and West coordinate of the following.

As an example, suppose the word is CHESS. C=3, H=8, E=5,
S=19,S=19, and the total is 54. Putting a decimal point in front
gives .54. Adding this to both coordinates gives N31 19.546 W097
14.636. Remember to carry past the decimal point if
necessary!
The final stage is a cammoed small plastic jar, somewhat larger
than a decon container. You will need to cross under I-35, but
there’s a quick way to do this.
